Haaretz and Fake news- Opinion

Most peope think Haaretz is Israel’s A rated newspaper, with a global reach and influence. It’s often what citizens of the world use when they want to find something positive about Israel, or any news from there.

Yet the truth could not be further away from it.

Haaretz is a leftist news site that often publishes false information to prop up its liberal agenda.

Priviously before Haaretz published an opinion article as if it were a news report, which falsely alleged that some Israeli rabbis and newspapers said Palestinians are not human.

Just like previous times Haaretz released an article claiming Israel has admited to killing 5 Palestinian children, which couldn’t be farther from the truth, IDF’s official spokessperson unit released a video of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad failed rocket that ended up killing 5 innocent kids. In a telegram group palestinian reporters seeked to report on the matter yet were threathened not to do so by the PIJ.

This incident is a great risk to Israel’s image.

Haaretz is one of Israel’s most widely-read newspapers, and earns massive credibility from its coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Many people who read fake news about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will not be able to tell that it is not true.

Yet it is impotant to remember to fact check sources.A wide range of Israeli media outlets and radical left journalists have been called out for spreading false information, distorting the facts and even deliberately lying to their audience.

So what can we do when someone brings up Haaretz as a vaild source?

  1. We can remind them tha a watchdog group that monitors the Israeli media says that Haaretz has engaged in a pattern of spreading anti-Semitic propaganda.
  2. We can remind them previous fake news Haaretz has spread

If you are like me, and many others, then you would have no idea that Haaretz is a source for “fake news.” This is why I feel compelled to share this article with you so that your minds are open to new knowledge.
